Core Team sets goals for Action
Teams, 'One Vision'
The
Core Team
for the Change Management and Marketing Iniative met March 31 in the Durham
County Extension Office. The role and purpose of each of five Action Teams
was discussed. Following the meeting, an email was sent to the people
who volunteered to serve on an Action Team during focus groups that met
at State Extension Conference. more>

Core Team reviews input from conference focus groups
During the March 2005 State Extension Conference, reports and updates
about the marketing and change initiative were shared with all attendees.
Four focus groups were asked to provide additional input into actions
to strategically implement the Transformation
Goals. One of the goals involved the appointment of a Core Team This

made significant progress in 2004 on our journey to change the way North
Carolina Cooperative Extension does business. We capped the year with
a frank and productive Unity Retreat that resulted in a clear focus for
how our organization will move forward in its transformation. more>

Marked by candor and a collaborative spirit, Cooperative
Extension’s Guiding Coalition accepted the challenge put before them at
the Unity Retreat:
- Set a clear direction
for strategic change to achieve a strong market position as a vital
partner in North Carolina’s progress.
- Agree on the vision
for Extension’s future.
- Recommend tangible

the directors
Since our Roadmap for Change district conferences, we have been busy laying
the groundwork for significant change within Extension. We are now ready
to take an important move. We will be convening a group of leaders from
across Extension at a three-day retreat to guide organizational change
and set the direction we must travel as a unified Extension.

Guiding
Coalition named
Administration has selected 50 North Carolina Cooperative Extension professionals
to serve as the Guiding Coalition for the change management and marketing
initiative. The coalition represents Cooperative Extension's geographic
and programmatic diversity and will meet at a three-day retreat in December
to develop a common vision and establish strategic priorities for Extension's
